Linda Loredo, fluent in Spanish, played Mrs. Hardy, while holdover Anita Garvin, silently enacted Mrs. Laurel, with the help of a native speaker who used a microphone off-camera to furnish the Spanish dialogue. In real life Stan and Anita remained dear friends long after their movie careers ended.
