Ticket collector Charlie Hall seeks to retrieve the string of movie admission tickets tangled around Patsy Kelly as Thelma Todd looks on, in this scene showing a crowded cinema, from the 1934 Todd-Kelly comedy BEAUTY AND BUS (1933). Both the theatre interiors and exteriors for this Hal Roach two-reeler were filmed on location at the thankfully still-thriving Fox Westwood Village Theatre near the UCLA campus. Director John Landis (ANIMAL HOUSE, THE BLUES BROTHERS, AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON) has written separate, warm tributes to both this particular movie house, and to Laurel & Hardy.
