This is a picture of part of the cloth which covered the statue prior to the unveiling by Ken Dodd OBE. This was designed by children from Sandside School - a school for children with special needs and also by members of the Old Library; a unit for adults with special needs and then sewn together by Mrs Jean Povey. A section of this cloth will be on display at the New Laurel and Hardy Museum in Ulverston.
